Robert de Wessyngton of Carnforth and John de Wessyngton of Tewithfield in the manor of Warton in the county of Lancaster were no doubt the sons of Robert and Margery de Wessington. In 1381 the son Robert received from Alice de Burgh, daughter of John de Burgh, of Bolton, the third part of a tenement in the vill of Bolton, in the wapentake of Lonsdale, which she had in dower from John, son of Thomas le Birkeheved, her late husband.
