Tailor in Leyden, Holland. Like most of the Mayflower group born in the 16th century Allerton was an ambitious man striving to succeed in a business way.
His residence in NEw Haven from 1646 to 1659 was on Fair Street, and is marked by a tablet, stating:
"Isaac Allerton, a pilgrim of the Mayflower and the father of New England Commerce lived on this ground 1646 till 1659"
It is supposed that Isaac Allerton was buried in New Haven on a plot of land which is now a part of the beautiful "Green" in the center of the city adjacent Yale College.
