Notes for William Jordan

His head right is not claimed until 1673 by his brother George, then Attorney General. It is likely that he came with his older brother in 1635, but was under the age of 10 at the time, and therefore ineligible for a head right.

. p 292, According to William's brother, Col. George Jordan's, will..."There is about 2000 lbs of tobacco in my hands due to the children of William Jordan, long since deceased, which children I could never find out, but am of late informed that they live at Gisburne, near Skipton in Craven, in Yorkshire; I order 6 hogsheads of tobacco to be sent home to them."
. p 296, in 1664, WIlliam Jordan about to die sold certain lands to Henry Briggs. Hs will was recorded in Surry, March 20, 1664/5. He is said to have wife Ann and two daughters.
