Notes for Elizabeth Jordan

Elizabeth was a niece of Col. George Jordan who became the Attorney General of Colonial Virginia.




The will of Elizabeth Jordan, reliq. of Richard Washington, deceased, was recored in Surry Co, VA, Will Book 8, page 496 (undated) and proven 12 May 1735 in Surry Co, VA. It specified the following:

to son George pewter dishes and a silk handkerchief
to son Richard, 3 ells of holland
to son John, chest, jugs etc.
to son Thomas, featherbed & furniture, chest of drawers, seal skin trunk etc.
to son William Warren, 3 pewter dishes and 2 plaits.
to son James 3 cow pot racks etc.
to son Arthur one large Bible and common prayer book etc.
to dau Elizabeth Lanier 40 shillings
to dau Faith Barker large Bason
to dau Ann a book called "Christ's Famous Title" and a golden chain
Mentions daughters Mary Hart, Ann Washington and Priscilla Lanier
Son Thomas Washington was appointed executor of her will
Wit: Benj Reeks, Thos Drinkard, Robert Clary
