Notes for George Washington

A George Washington, probably not this one, September 28, 1730, Patent Book 13, p 515, 235 acres, Isle of Wight Co; bet. Nottoway Swamp & the Flag Sw., on N. side of Nottoway River; adj. hi own; RIchard Drake; Edward Goodson; & Matthew Rushin; 25 shillings

He was appointed executor of his cousin William Washington's will written December 30, 1762 and proved January 13, 1763 in Southampton Co, VA. William names wife Sarah, sister Mary Hart, niece Elizabeth Hart, cousin Robert Hart, cousin John Washington, Joseph Washington (son of George Washington) who will receive his land after his wife Sarah dies.

In his father Arthur's will, Arthur Washington's Will written October 22, 1758, WB 1, p 408, Southampton Co, VA, he received the plantation lying on the Flag Swamp

George's will written October 2, 1800 and recorded October 20, 1800, WB 2, Southampton Co, VA, p 56. Wit Joseph Bracy, Arthur Drake, James Whitehead. In his will, George only names his wife Esther, sons William and David and Grandson Henry, son of Matthew Johnson and wife Sally, then he says the rest of his estate divided amongst all my children then living.
