The East Greenwich Packet, Nov 1981, East Greenwich, RI, vol 5, No 4, p 1, A Publication of the East Greenwich Preservation Society: October 31, 1977 East Greenwich dedicated "Founders Rock" at The Old Jail, King Street, headquarters of the Society, which listed the early settlers of East Greenwich. Listed was John Aylesworth.

History of the Town of East Greenwich from 1677 to 1877, DH Greene, Providence, JA and RA Reid, Printers and Publishers, 1877, p 48: In 1796 the council voted, "that where as Thomas Casey and John AIlsworth, have got some of the proprietor's lots in their possession,k not taken up agreeable to the acts of the proprietors, it is voted by this meeting that the clerk notify them to appear at the adjournment of this meeting, to account by what authority they improve them."
