The others are found in Coventry. His will made Nov. 14, 1789, says that he was old and feeble, and mentions the names of all his children except John and Phebe. Arthur Aylworth deed to "my son Philip" date May 29, 1742, land in West Greenwich.
Philip made a gift deed to each of his two sons, Philip and John, of land in Coventry, Feb 12, 1761. At some uncertain date between the years 1842 and 1848 Rev. James P. Aylworth, in writing to his son Orin, gave a brief outline of family connections, in which he refers to his grandfather Benjamin as having had two brothers, Philip and James, no allusion being made to the sisters. If John married and reared a family, the fact, very likely, would have been familiar to Rev. James P Aylworth, whose father was born in 1755. John's receiving a gift of land from his father at the age of 22 is presumptive evidence of but not proof of his marriage.
Bowen Aylworth remembered the visit of his mother's brother a sea captain, to Canada in sailor's uniform. If we may supose Bowen to have been five years of age at the time the visit took place, them we have a date about 6 years prior to the making of the will of Philip, John's father, who does not mention him. He probably died or was lost at sea during this time."
