Buried "Captain Smith's Plantation" near Waco on the Brazos RiverSandstone slab from the river marks his grave in Texas. It refers to him as "Rev." He was said to be a Methodist preacher, brickmaker, and chimney builder.
Died of pneumonia.
Moved to Texas to join several of Martha's brothers and sisters in Gonzales County.
