From Portrait and Biographical Record of Macoupin County, Illinois; Chicago: Biographical Publishing Company, 1891, p 430: Resided in Madison County, Illinois until 1856 when he bought a tract of land on section 6, Brushy Mound Township, Macoupin County, Illinois. He built it up and at the time of his death November 1888, he had 450 acres of choice land and was one of the solid men of the township.
