From Martha W Acker email January 17, 2005:
Elizabeth Acker, wife of Henry Dearborn Acker now living in Alabama files a claim against the estate of William Cox, stating that certain items had been promised to her by her father and sues to recover them

A letter (see file)from a Mr.... Norris in 1966 of Belton, SC to MWA states he finally found the much needed information about Elizabeth Cox
who married Rev H. Dearborn Acker: Her father was William Cox b. 6 Mar 1786, d. 1845. Her mother was Frances Gray b. June 1785. "Our record" shows Elizabeth B. Cox was b. 20 Sept 1811, mar. Rev H. Dearborn Acker 1 Nov 1832. William Cox was the son of Reuben Cox who is buried near Shady Grove Bapt. Church, east of Belton, SC, but don't have the name of his wife, but am sure it is on the marker at their graves which is in nice shape. I don't have information on Frances Gray, but find that one Hulda Gray named as one of the Charter members of Shady Grove( Mr. Norris was connected to the Acker and Cox families)

The following notes were made from Leonardo Andrea File on Cox family, at South Caroliniana Library, Univ. SC: Andrea states that the Bible of William Cox was in possession of Mrs. Marie Cox Tucker of Williamston, SC at time of interview (no date indicated) and contained the following
William Cox b. 6 Mar 1786 mar 16 June 1808 Fannie Gray b. 1 June 1785
Polly Cox b. 25 Aug 1809 mar 12 Mar 1833 Mason Kay
Elizabeth Cox b. 20 Sept 1811 mar 1 Nov 1832 ...
Reuben B. Cox b. 12 Dec 1813 mar 12 June 1836
Hulda Cox b. 2 Mar 1816
Sally Cox b. 24 Feb 1818
Thomas Cox b. 14 Dec 1819
Hepsi Cox b. 18 April 18.. May be a mistaken reading of Jesse
Lucinda Cox b. 13 Aug 18..
William D. Cox b. 10 July 1828

Andrea notes that the death page was lost; and that William Cox resided between Honea Path and Broadmouth Bapt. Church

Andrea entry 121 states that the will of William Cox was probated in Spartanburg Co. SC because he also owned land there, although he lived in Pendleton Dist. I have not been able to follow up on this. Will adm'r Dec 1846 names wife Frances (Note the names are mixed
up) William David, Mason, Reuben B., Elizabeth, Thomas, Hulda, Kay, Polly, H.D. Acker, Jesse Cox. (Have not located this will)
