The Guntersville Democrat: Clarence Rice of Warrenton died of heart trouble aboard his ship in the Pacific, his family has learned through a letter from his captain. The family had been notified Dec. 13 of his death but had received no details at that time.
Tombstone: Robert C. Rice, C.W.T. He gave his life for his country, may he not have died in vain.
