Notes for David Hall

Living Individual - Details withheldJournal of sister of William Douglas Hall (which sister unknown probably Sarah A)), "Leaves from a Woman's Private Journal," Between 1880 - 1894, p 1: "David Hall, my great great grandfather, came from England and settled in North Carolina. Married Miss Susan Miller, an intelligent, educated, beautiful brunette, but a woman of most ungovernable temper. On account of that temper he left her with their three sons and is supposed to have settled in Virginia, remarried and reared another family. Tradition says he was a soldier in the revolutionary war, and that he kissed one of his sons, while that son, who was also a soldier, slept behind a fallen tree. And that son was William Hall my great grandfather, who inherited his mother's temper and drank to excess in his youth but lived to be very old. I remember him, very indistinctly, as placing his hand in blessing on my head. I was about three years old."
