Notes for James Franklin Prentice

From J.A. Thomason writings from 1945-1950, General History of Marshall County Alabama
p.162, "J F Prentice bought a claim on 40 acres about 1880 from William Nabors. He lived there till about 1900 and sold it to Rev. E T Pesnell. The old building was a log house, chinked and daubed. William Nabors built the south room and porch and J F Prentice built the north room and porch. About 1900 J F Prentice bought a place from a loan company. It was originally owned by the late John Ragsdale. Mr. Prentice installed a grist mill on Beech Creek. It was a water power mill.
