Notes for John Ragsdale

From J.A. Thomason writings from 1945-1950, General History of Marshall County Alabama
p. 4 "John Ragsdale operated a sash saw mill at Ragsdale Falls where Beech Creek runs off the bluff of the mountain."
p. 223. "It is called the Buck Hole. Big buck deer would jump into the hole and that was where it got its name. When the boys went swimming in the Buck Hole they would tell their parents they were going to the Prater mill pond. The Buck Hole was dangerous and the parents would not let them go there if they knew it. They claim the Buck Hole hasn't any bottom. When I first knew Mr. Ragsdale he lived at the Street place near Warrenton. It is called the Lytle place now. (October 12, 1949)"
