Notes for James Moon

From GenealogyLibrary.com: New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Volume IV, page 2159
On January 29, 1749, James Moon purchased of Robert Lucas, for 480 pounds, 218 and 1/4 acres of land in Middletown township, now known as "Woodbourne", where he resided the remainder of his life, and which is now owned and occupied by his descendants. Besides general farming he was a nursery man, as entries in his cash book testify, one reading: "11th mo. 22nd 1755. Joseph Lovett bought six Newtown pippins and two grafted pear trees for eight shillings." He thus inaugurated a business which his descendants have followed to a greater or less extent for over one hundred and thirty years.
