April 7, 1827 Joseph Duckworth of Jones County, GA in his will names "my trusty and beloved friend John English" as executor, Jones County wills A, B, part C, drawer 75, box, 65 Georgia Archives
In his will besides his wife Ann, he mentions Polly Gibson, former Polly Davidson, (he does not say who she is perhaps his wife's sister?), and George M L Gibson son of William C and Polly Gibson. After his wife Ann dies his property is to be sold and given to the following: Frederick H Leaves $400, John T Pearson son of John Pearson $400, Patsy Hearn formerly Patsy Stephens $500, 1/3 of the remainder to Polly Gibson and her heirs, and the balance divided equally among his nephews, not named.

Jones Co, GA court records: at the same time that Green English and Jonathan English were granted letters of administration for John English's estate, the court took up the matter of Green English, as the nearest kin of John English deceased who was the administrator of Joseph Duckworth's estate and intermarried with his widow Ann, and James Smith, representing the Legatees of said Duckworth, to determine who would be granted letters of administration. The court ruled for James Smith who had to put up $25,000 security.

December 31, 1841 James Smith Adm made the return on Joseph Duckworth's Estate, Jones County, GA, Book K, p 392-393. The following nephews were listed: Jeremiah, Almond, John, Rowal, Garaway and William Duckworth, F.M., James D, George W, Littleberry and Lazarus Carter and it looks like Orlanda W Roco and Lorenzo D Reese by their Otto ? Edge
