Notes for Mary Cookney

From Godfrey Ragsdale by Caroline Skelton, p 8: Henrico Co, VA, Bk 6, p 211 John Cookney's will was probated, Dec. 1, 1646. It is therefore logical to conclude that he, too, was a victim of the massacre. This will gave to Godfrey Ragsdale II the 150 granted to the testator in 1638. The purchase of his homestead adjoining John Cookney and Cookney's legacy to his son leads to the conclusion that Godfrey Ragsdale #1 married John Cookney's daughter.
That her name was "Mary" is indicated in the will of Mrs. Sarah Woodson probated October 18, 1687 in which mention is made of "Mrs. Mary Ragsdale, deceast", God Mother to Seth Ward's daughter. Godfrey's wife was the only Mrs. Ragsdale at "Old Town"
