October Court 1757, Lunenburg Co, VA, OB4, p 383, John Ragsdale and others present themselves to be vestrymen in the new parish when assembly of the Church of England divides the Parish of Cumberland in Lunenburg County

August 12, 1773, John Ragsdale deeds over 200 acres on Middle Bluestone Creek where John nows lives to the Charles Duncan Company. If he can not pay them what he owes by December 1, 1774, they can sell the land to pay his debt to them.
John's will written October 6, 1793 and recorded July 14, 1794, Will Book 3, page 224, Mecklenburg County, Virginia, mention wife Frances and children but not by name. Wife to have peaceable possession of entire estate for her lifetime, and then to be divided among my children - not named.
