About 1724 Jane died intestate; the undated inventory of her estate is recorded in the North Carolina Secretary of State's Wills, Book III, p 53. She was identified as the widow Jane Hassell. There was no reference to what court this inventory was ordered nor wer the names of the appraisers given. It is on the same page between two other inventories dated OCtober 24, 1723 and April 30, 1725 respectively.
