Northampton Co, VA
. 1672 William Foster sold 200 acres to George Brickhouse (wife Mary). In 1713 Brickhouse left two separated 100 acres parcels to his son Major Brickhouse; one was on the west side of "Cow Bridge Gut" and extended west to the present seaside road, while the other was between Castle Ridge and Wolf Creek.
. December 14, 1722, registered his mark for cattle, hogs and sheep (vizt) right ear cropt and two slits, left ear underbitten and overbitten.
. 1750 the will of Major Brickhouse did not mention land, but he left his estate to his wife Mary and then to his children George, Ann and Rachel. However, before that date other recods were noted which confused the title.
