Vol 5, p 329: "John Inman and Sarah Hearnton were both published in way of marriage by a wrighting fixed upon a public place of the Towne of Providence under the hand of Tho Olney Junr, Assistant and bearing date the 20th day of Januarey 1669"

Rhode Island General Court of Trials 1671-1704, transcribed by Jane Fletcher Fiske, Boxford, Massachusetts, 1998, p 43: Newport COurt Book A, October 1675 "David Whipple and Sarah the Daughter of Benja~ Hernden both of [23/25] Providence are centanced to pay four pound to the General Treasury for not atendinge the Courts order, and if they will marry before this Court they may and it shall be a lawfull Marriage. Married in Court the 15th of May 1675."
