Notes for Daniel Goddard

Living Individual - Details withheldHistory of Lamar County, Augusta Lambdin, Editor, The Barnesville News-Gazette, 1932:
p 59 "It was originally an Indian trail, but in the early 1820's it was changed to a stage road and some 18 or 20, perhaps as many as 25 stages were used on it at all times. The Alabama Road entered Monroe County (now Lamar) from the northeast. The first stage stand was at Unionville. From that point the road passed the homes of William Darden, Green English, Daniel Goddard, and Hiram Bloodworth, than a stage stand kept by JW Settles."
