Notes for William Edgar N Moon

World War I draft registration card filed out August 24, 1918, Ventura County, California: tall, slender, blue eyes, light hair, employed by A Moon, Montalvo, CA

From email February 2, 2004 from Claire Morris: "Uncle Edgar and Aunt Katy were at our grandparents a lot. I saw them there. Edgar drank like a fish! One time grandma came across a family who she thought was a distant relative. She had a dinner and I remember going to it. Aunt Katy was there. Edgar showed up drunk as a skunk. My dad took him somewhere to keep Edgar out of the house.
Edgar and grandpa used to go to a ranch above Kernville to hunt. One of the times a big mangy dog climbed in bed with one of theme. Whoever it was thought that it was a bear.
Edgar died in Kernville on the way back from making reservations for horses on that ranch. He and Aunt Katy stopped at a cafe to have coffee. Katy ordered a sweet roll. Edgar wanted a piece. She cut it, and gave it to him. As he put it to his mouth he died. They had a heck of a time getting his body back here because it was on a weekend and they had to have permission from all three Kern, Los Angeles, and Ventura counties to transfer him through each county."
"One time Edgar stopped at a bar in Ventura where he always stopped. He was on his way home from hunting and he had a deer in the car. He said that someone stole his car, but everyone else thought that he had forgotten where he parked it. Either way when he did get the car back a few days I don't have to tell you how it smelled."
"He and grandpa were among those who pushed a trolley into the ocean back in the early 1900's"
