December 1, 1947, Oxnard Press-Courier, in the El Rio and Vicinity column states that Kathy Moon has been staying with her grandparents the Calvin Moon's while her "mother, who is a patient at the Foster Memorial hospital in Ventura, recently underwent a major operation."
