Notes for Calloway "Calvin" Leroy Moon

August 23, 1912, Oxnard Courier, front page, Young People Quietly Married This Morning, " Rev. W.C. Botkin Thursday united two of the county's young people in marriage at the Methodist parsonage, when Calvin Moon of Montalvo and Miss Edith Kennedy of El Rio were made one. Mrs L.V. Kennedy, the mother of the bride, was the only member of the two families present.
The bridegroom is a young farmer of the Montalvo district, being associated with his father in farming there. His bride is a native daughter of this community, her birthplace being at El Rio. Her father owns a small place there and is employed by the American Beet Sugar Company during the campaign period.
The young people will make their home at Montalvo."

July 29, 1919, Oxnard Daily Courier, Classified Ads, Lost, 3 young calves had strayed on to his ranch at Montalvo.

March 18, 1952, Oxnard Press-Courier, p 2, photo and article about flood waters breaking through a levee on Santa Clara Avenue and isolating the Calvin Moon home. Moon said flooding did little damage to his property. Quote "Them things gotta happen"
