Official Records spell the name several ways Pridget, Pritchet, and Pritchett

Monroe County, Georgia 1853 Tax List Middlebrook's District lists William J Pritchard, no poll, no military duty

January 5, 1856, John pays his father WIlliam's estate $57.04 which was the sixth part of the crop of cotton made at the deceased place in 1855.

January 9, 1857, John pays his father William's estate $25.82 for 30 bushels of corn @@$.80 and 3.4 pounds of fodder.

Monroe County, Georgia 1863 Salt List includes Mrs. John Pritchett on p 516 under names of wives of soliders now in service. This entitled her to purchase for $1 a 1/2 bushel of salt. 1864 on page 607.

From War Records: October 1862 on Regimental Return he is listed as sick. On December 3, 1863 he was admitted to Winder Hospital No 4, Richmond, Virginia as a Sgt Co D 45 Jan and Feb 1864 on company muster roll not stated if present or absent. May & June 1864 on company muster roll as present, July & August 1864 on company muster as 2nd Sgt, present. Same for Sept & Oct 1864, Nov & Dec 1864, Jan & Feb, 1865. admitted Mar 27, 1865 to Jackson Hospital, Richmond, Virginia remarks: right shoulder. Transferred April 1, 1865 to Farmville, VA. Admitted Farmville April 2, 1865, "Vul Sclop". Appears on register CSA General Hospital, Danville, VA, April 8, 1865, complaint Vul Sclop in scalp right side.

Promoted to Full Sergeant 4th class on June 28, 1862, promoted to Full Sergeant 2nd Class on July 15, 1864 (estimated date of promo), admitted on April 8, 1865 at CSA Gnl Hospl, Danville, VA wounded in right side.

He served in Confederate Army, CSA, Sargent Company D of the 45th Regiment of GA Volunteers. On March 5, 1864 at Petersbury, Virginia he was wounded in right shoulder, head and left arm which made him physically inable to make a livelyhood by labor and that he was a resident of Alabama on February 13, 1891. On April 25, 1894 He applied for "Relief of Needy Confederate Soldiers". He was a farmer whose property does not exceed $400 and whose income is less than $400 per year. His application was investigated and approved July 22, 1895

Did not find marriage license for Martha Ann and John in Spalding, Monroe or Jones County

Census 1860, Page 843, Dwelling 1011, Family 980, Showed John, 26, and Francis, 21, living in Unionville, Monroe County, GA. He was a farmer and had $1200 in real estate and $5200 in personal property. With William J aged 2.

1870 Census, Roll #166, page 108, dwelling 774, family 773, showed John and Martha Ann living in Forsyth, Monroe Co. GA, farmer, Real estate $250
