One of John Beasley's college classmates was a young man from Kentucky named Robert (Bob) Towery. They became very close friends and he invited John to visit in his home. While there he met and fell in love with Bob's sister, Sallie, who later became his wife. They lived in Tennessee near Clarksville.
Had eight children, including two sets of twins who died in infancy. Died at birth of last set of twins, buried with baby in each arm.
