From Noble Acker page 363: Amos Acker was living on his father's farm when he died, only 14 days prior to his eighty-seventh birthday.
Amos and Ruth had 14 children, 3 died in infancy, including twin sons. His sons Albert Sutherland, Joseph Jasper, Elihu Halbert and Richard Vandiver Acker fought in the Confederate Army. Elihu Halbert returned from the War 21 July 1865 and died the following day.
