Dear Mrs. Cate,

Your letter was recd and was very glad to know you and the children were doing so nicely. Poor little ones their grief is as great as ours in a way but they are blest with the privilege of forgetfulness in one way that is better for them I know just how sad and lonely you feel and now after every thing is over your reflections come anew, but it is for the best whether we see it that way or not and poor Mrs. McCain was a devout mother no doubt taxed her strength by her will power and that was too great to last. I had not personally known her but a short time but have known of her for some time, but I liked her very much for the acquaintance and I certainly sympathize with the whole family in their loss. Our precious baby is so sweet we are all very foolish over her, not one bit of trouble is she. She sleeps right beside my bed and I think I hear every move she makes. I sure hope that Mr Mc gets some one that will have the children at heart a little and take care of them as they should be. He seems to be bearing up under his trouble real well. Of course I don't think a man ever shows his trouble like a woman. They really have more self will. Well, Miss Alma, I hope you are all well to night and will come back soon to Bham to see us all.

With love and best
Wishes I remain
Most Respt -
Mrs. W W Leslie

Email from Clarence Vinson, Chairman, Cemetary Committee, Eulaton First Baptist Church, September 10, 2007
"I have checked my cemetary map...outside boundaryt of the grave site of Mrs. J.H. Brickhouse (no grave marker), to her right is the granve of J.H. Brickhouse (with grave marker), next 3 gravesites marked on our records as McCain infants (no grave markers). I feel sure that one of them is Margaret F. McCain. We have no information concerning any of the three. Just beyond them is Lois McCain's grave (with a marker) Near the far end of the same row is a grave site for infant George Brickhouse (no Marker)...If you go behind the church and go down walkway to the right of the tree you can't miss these graves."

Note: J.H. Brickhouse died before his second wife Rachel Loyd and must have bought her a plot. When she died her family buried her with her first husband at Eulaton Methodist Church.
