Notes for Ada Elva Pritchett

Census 1900 shows Ada living in Warrenton, AL with Thomas D. Cadenhead and his wife Iola. Iola is the daughter of John and Martha Prichett.

Source Church Register of Centerpoint (currently Diamond Methodist), Warrenton Circuit, North Alabama Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South: Register of Members lists Ada Johnson received October 11, 1909 by letter. Lists James W, Ada E, JP, and Harvey D Johnson being received into the church summer of 1918 on transfer from the Horton Circuit. Later listed as gone to Guntersville with no date.

OBITUARY: (excerpts) Funeral services ... held at South Side Methodist Church. ... Burial in Anderson Cemetery at Diamond.
Mrs. Johnson, who was 76, had been in poor health for 16 years and a virtual shut-in for the last 6 or 8 years. She had been in bed for a week. She became very ill in the night Monday but was conscious when her daughter, Mrs. James McCain and granddaughter Jean Ann went in to see her early Tuesday. Jean Ann was making a doll dress and about the last words Mrs. Johnson spoke were, "What a pretty dress."
.... All of their children were born in Diamond except Paul, who was born on Sand Mountain where the Johnsons lived a few years. They lived at Blountsville while their older children were in high school and later moved to Guntersville where Mr. Johnson went into the mercantile and then grocery business.
